Miri: A husband and wife were found dead with gunshot wounds to their bodies at their house in Kampung Beraya Bekenu, here, today.
In the 7am incident, the bodies of the victim, a 60-year-old man and his wife, a 40-year-old Indonesian, were found in the bedroom.
Miri District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Hakemal Hawari said a team of policemen was sent to the location upon receiving a report on the incident.
"Further investigations are underway to identify the cause of the incident.
The couple's body was taken to Miri Hospital for autopsy," he said when contacted.
It is understood that the couple's bodies were found by one of their younger brothers who heard their child crying.
He felt something suspicious was going on and went to the victim's house, but the door was locked and his attempts to call them were also not answered.
The man then peeked through the window of the couple's room and was shocked to see them covered in blood with a shotgun line on the chest of the male victim.
