A truck driver unfamiliar with the local routes claimed he was merely following his GPS application when he was recorded driving against traffic on Jalan Persiaran S2/3, Seremban 2, yesterday.
Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din, stated that a 51-second video of the incident went viral on social media at around 7:40 PM. The footage showed a truck moving against the traffic flow at the mentioned location.
The incident is believed to have occurred at 11:39 AM yesterday. The District Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPTD) Seremban took immediate action to locate the suspect, he said in a statement today.
This led to the arrest of a 54-year-old man, identified as the truck driver, on the same day. The truck was also seized at the Seremban District Police Headquarters Traffic Station.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, who was delivering goods in the Seremban area at the time, was unaware that the route was prohibited. He claimed he was following the GPS application because he was not familiar with the area.

The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and further investigation is ongoing.
The police chief also advised all road users to drive cautiously and adhere to traffic laws to ensure the safety of everyone.
