This is not an April fool joke. The Health Director-General, Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, said to the press that the COVID-19 curve is flattening. This is an early sign proving that the effort of passed two weeks is starting to pay off. He also added another good news, saying that there is 108 of COVID-19 patients were discharged today, which is by far the highest number of patients discharged in a single day.
The minister compared the actual number of COVID-19 cases to the projection made by the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER), and the result shows that the actual number cases are lower than what was initially forecasted by MIER.
While the increment of patients recovered and discharged from the hospital shows that Malaysia's recovery rate has been improving.
However, he stressed that “The next two weeks are crucial. It will decide whether or not the government’s MCO has produced the intended impact, ” and that Malaysians must continue to practice social distancing and obey MCO for the upcoming weeks.
