29 routes in Kuala Lumpur will be closed during two international events over the weekend.
The events in question are the 2023 Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM), which is expected to draw 25,000 participants, and the conclusion of Le Tour De Langkawi (LTdL) at KLCC on Sunday.
Kuala Lumpur's Chief of Police, Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, announced that these road closures would be in effect from midnight until 11 AM.
Roads Closed for KLSCM 2023 (September 30):
-Jalan Raja Dataran Merdeka
-Jalan Raja Laut
-Jalan Sultan Ismail
-Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman
-Jalan Dang Wangi
-Jalan Ampang (towards the city center)
-Jalan P Ramlee
-Jalan Kuching (towards Dato Onn Roundabout)
-Both directions of Jalan Parlimen
-Jalan Kinabalu (towards Dato Onn Roundabout)
-Jalan Cenderawasih (to Jalan Lembah)
-Hishamuddin Roundabout to Jalan Raja
Roads Closed for LTdL (Saturday):
-Jalan Jelatek to Jalan Ampang (towards the city center)
-Jalan Kampung Pandan
- Routes towards downtown Ampang
Roads Closed on Sunday (29 routes):
-Jalan Raja Dataran Merdeka
-Dato Onn Roundabout to Jalan Raja Laut
- Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) to Jalan Tun Perak
- Jalan Tun Perak to Dato Onn Roundabout
- Jalan TAR
- Routes from Chow Kit to Dataran Merdeka
- Jalan Raja Laut to Jalan Sultan Ismail
- Jalan Kuching to Jalan Sultan Ismail (from the north and south directions)
- Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah from Sentul to Jalan TAR
- Jalan TAR from Pahang Roundabout
- Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz
- Routes from Chow Kit to the intersection of Jalan Raja Abdullah
- Jalan Raja Abdullah (both directions up to Jalan Sultan Ismail)
- Jalan P Ramlee to Jalan Bukit Bintang
- Jalan Raja Chulan to Jalan Bukit Bintang (from Jalan Tun Razak)
- Jalan Raja Chulan to Jalan Bukit Bintang
Malaysians are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid disruptions during these events.
