In the ongoing trial at the Magistrate's Court, it was revealed that preacher Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew's phone, known as Ebit Lew, contained 90 explicit images. Inspector Yip Chang Ching, a Crime Computer Forensic Investigation Unit analyst from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), presented his findings after examining data from a flash drive provided by LGMS Berhad on March 10, 2022.
Inspector Yip, during the examination by Deputy Public Prosecutor Zahida Zakaria, mentioned that the analysis also identified three explicit video recordings. The process involved spending around four hours and 50 minutes to unlock the files for forensic software.
The analyzed data included reports of two outgoing calls answered by others, lasting 136 seconds and 1,346 seconds, on May 1, 2021, at 7:28 a.m. and May 20, 2021, at 7:50 a.m., respectively. Subsequently, Inspector Yip handed over the flash drive to the investigating officer on January 10th of the previous year.
Ebit Lew, 38, is currently facing 11 charges, including accusations of dishonoring a woman in her 40s by sending explicit content via the WhatsApp application between March and June 2021. These charges, under Section 509 of the Penal Code, could result in a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a fine, or both if convicted.
