Sin Chew Daily reported that a man in Jiangsu tried to sell cat meat to restaurants after fooling them that those were rabbit meat. It was learned that this man would catch stray cats in order to earn money.
This inhuman act was made public at Weibo (央视新闻) that the residents of Jiangsu complained that there was a man trapping and catching stray cats! The residents rushed to the scene and realized that there were more than 10 cats trapped in the cage.

The offender explained to the policeman that these stray cats do not have an owner, thus trapping them was not illegal.
After investigation, the policeman found out that the offender was jobless. He would catch stray cats and tried to sell it as rabbit meat to restaurants for money. The policeman then seized his tools and released all stray cats after 'lecturing' him.
The authority reminds that consuming cat meat is very dangerous as it may contain virus and germs that are harmful.
