A startling incident unfolded at the Farmers' Organization Board (LPP) building on Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, leading to the evacuation of the premises due to an explosion. The explosion, which was believed to have occurred on the building's fifth floor, prompted a swift response from local authorities and drew the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
The Minister was scheduled to partake in a media engagement session at approximately 2:30 PM when the unexpected explosion disrupted the plans.
In response to the incident, a fire engine was dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident. Senior Fire Officer II, Rusdi Ismail indicated that an underground cable fire was believed to be the source of the commotion within the LPP building.
A team of seven personnel, equipped with a fire engine, from the Sentul Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene, arriving at 2:09 PM. They were subsequently informed by the public about an explosion in the electrical room on one of the floors in the building.
Investigations are reportedly still ongoing.
