Siti Hawa Hussin, a beloved member of Kampung Kajang Sebidang, Tumpat, Kelantan, embodies a life full of simplicity and devotion. Despite turning 112, she embraces life with grace, finding her strength in prayers and a positive spirit, never complaining about life's challenges.
Although her hearing and sight aren't as sharp as before, Siti Hawa still enjoys moving around and savoring her meals.
Recognizing the changes in her body over time, Siti Hawa remains independent, dedicatedly performing her prayers despite the frailty of her old age.
"I never imagined living this long, especially after bidding farewell to my siblings and friends. I don't have any special secret, just a lifelong habit of eating plain rice with water. I'm not sure how it connects to my long life," she shared during a chat.
Expressing gratitude for the blessings of Allah SWT, Siti Hawa cherishes the chance to pray and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
According to her daughter-in-law, Zainura Ariffin, 47, Siti Hawa doesn't ask for much but sometimes forgets things due to her age. Astonishingly, her health concerns only revolve around high blood pressure, steering clear of major illnesses.
"Still, she manages her day-to-day activities on her own, from meals to personal care. Even when she prays sitting down, she does so with great dedication," Zainura mentioned, sharing that her mother-in-law receives RM500 in aid from the Department of Social Welfare.
Despite having experienced the joy and sorrow of seven marriages, she finds immense joy in the laughter of her five children, 19 grandchildren, and an impressive 30 great-grandchildren. With a playful tone, humorously admits that she wouldn't turn down the prospect of remarrying if there were any interested suitors.
You're never too old for love, no?
