Have you ever heard Koreans speaking in Kelantan dialect before?
Zulhilmi Asyraf Bin Zamri, who was a Salam Seoul Ambassador in 2022, prompted his Korean friends to speak in Malay Kelantan dialect in a TikTok video, and it quickly became viral on that platform with over 89K views.
In the video, Zulhilmi teachers his Korean friends a few of the famous Kelate phrases, such as "Jom makey.", "Bereh!", and "Comel lotey." and these ladies nailed it! Don't they sound almost exactly like a local?
Kudos to Zulhilmi for exposing our Malaysian language to people from another country. Cultural exposure like this albeit through a simple TikTok video could easily be taken as an educational context for anyone wishing to know more about our country.
