A local tourist visiting Langkawi recently shared her shocking experience of being charged an exorbitant price for a seemingly simple meal at a local restaurant in Pantai Cenang.
The incident unfolded when the tourist decided to order Ayam Goreng Kunyit, a popular local dish, along with a plate of rice and a glass of iced water. To her disbelief, she was charged RM20 for the Ayam Goreng Kunyit, RM3 for the plate of rice, and an additional RM1 for the glass of water, bringing the total bill to a staggering RM24.
Expressing her dismay, the tourist took to social media to recount her experience, drawing attention to the seemingly disproportionate charges for what she considered a basic meal.
The post quickly gained traction, with netizens expressing their astonishment and sharing their own encounters of ordering similar dishes at much lower prices, typically less than RM10.
