In a deeply disturbing incident, a 15-year-old Malaysian girl has reportedly fallen victim to a horrific sexual assault by two Rohingya men whom she had met during a car ride in the tranquil vicinity of Klebang. The traumatizing incident came to light when the young victim was discovered between the hours of 2:00 and 3:00 AM in a playground located in Batu Berendam, near her residence, thanks to the diligence of a friend of her elder brother. The concerned friend initiated the search upon realizing that the girl had not returned home.
Datuk Wira Zainol Samah, the Chief of Police in Melaka, disclosed that the initial report concerning this dreadful incident had been lodged by the victim's brother at the Batang Tiga Police Station on the same day. The subsequent investigation unveiled a harrowing sequence of events.
According to Zainol, the victim, still attending school, had left her home around 2:00 PM on September 14th to embark on a drive with a 14-year-old Rohingya boy she had recently befriended. This young boy, who subsequently became the primary suspect, took her on a motorcycle ride around 4:00 PM before rendezvousing with another 27-year-old Rohingya man (the secondary suspect) at a restaurant in Klebang.
Following this encounter, the trio embarked on a car ride in a Proton Preve, driven by the second suspect, which ultimately led to the girl's sexual assault by both men, transpiring inside the vehicle by the beach in that vicinity. After enduring this traumatic ordeal, the victim was abandoned in a playground situated in the Batu Berendam area.
Medical examinations conducted at Melaka Hospital confirmed signs of physical trauma to the victim's genitals, providing further evidence of the gravity of the incident. In light of this, the police swiftly located and apprehended both Rohingya male suspects on the same day.
As per official procedures, both suspects have been remanded for seven days, starting from September 15th to 21st, to facilitate ongoing investigations into the matter. The first suspect is reported to be unemployed, while the second is identified as a trader, and both individuals possess United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) cards.
The case is currently under investigation, pursued under Section 376 of the Penal Code, specifically for rape, an offense that, if proven, carries a minimum prison sentence of five years, with a maximum penalty of 20 years and corporal punishment.
