Sin Chew Daily reported an intentional assault case, happened in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The offender of this case is a 22-year-old man who dated a 15-year-old girl for half a year. It was reported that the man wanted to get back together with the victim and was rejected.

Due to his jealousy and the rejection, he then hid nearby the victim's house and attacked her when he saw her returning from school. A total of 25 wounds were caused and 2 fingers were chopped off. The court had sentenced him to 12 years in prison for attempted murder.
It was learned that the offender attacked the victim upon seeing her with a knife. He was later brought under control by the help of passerby after the victim's family screamed for help. Although the victim was rushed to the hospital, 2 fingers of hers failed to joint back.
The lawyer of the offender claimed that he is suffering from mental illnesses, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, etc. The lawyer further disclosed that he has not been taking his medicine.
After investigating the case, the court adjudged that the offender committed the crime as planned showed that he was clear-minded, thus sentencing his 12-year imprisonment.
