In Kluang, Johor last night (16th Oct), a man was killed when his car slammed into an elephant on the road.
On Jalan Pinang headed to Bukit Tongkat, a Honda City of 4 skidded and then drove into an elephant. 3 out of the 4 victims were injured, and the driver, a 37-year-old man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
When the rescue team arrived, they found that the 3 injured victims were helped out of the car by members of the public.
"The Johor State Operations Centre received a road accident emergency call at 9.59pm and a fire tender machine from the Renggam Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene of the accident.
"The victims were handed over to a Health Ministry ambulance before the fire and rescue team arrived at the location, and the rescue team acted to remove the driver who was confirmed dead," said Fire and Rescue Department operations commander.
Based on reports by NST, the elephant was safe, and the victim's body was handed over to the police for further action.
