KOTA BHARU: A senior citizen was charged at the Sessions Court here today on five charges of sexually harassed his girlfriend's 15-year-old daughter, at two different locations in Jelawat, Bachok, last May.
The accused, Abdul Aziz Mohamed, 62, however, pleaded not guilty and asked to be tried after the charge was read before Judge Ahmad Bazli Bahruddin.
According to the charge, the accused was charged with having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.
The offense was committed at two separate locations, namely in a bush area and a house in Jelawat, Bachok from May 2 to the fourth week of May between 12 noon and 2 am.
Prosecution was conducted in accordance with Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017 which provides for imprisonment for up to 20 years and whipping.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Ahmad Fariz Abdul Hamid prosecuted, and the accused was not represented by a lawyer.
Earlier, Ahmad Fariz applied for no bail to be offered as the act committed by the accused was despicable, apart from the accused knowing the victim.
The court did not offer any bail and set December 7 as the case re -mention date.
