As announced by the Malaysia Prime Minister that Malaysia will be entering the fourth phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO), starting from next Wednesday (April 29) until May 12. However, PM did mention in his speech that the government will be drafting the next step based on the latest data provided by the Ministry of Health (MoH), and there is a possibility that the MCO may be further extended, according to Kwong Wah.

"This means that people may not be able to return to their hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya and cannot go to work, and businesses still cannot operate, except those fields who are allowed," he added.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the PM stated that Malaysia has yet to win the battle against the COVID-19, however, he has confidence that we will win this war at last! He urged Malaysians to see this pandemic as one of the challenges during the Raya.

"This Ramadan month, we can’t go to the Ramadan market, there will be no Nasi Briyani, Murtabak, and all kinds of pastries that we love, but it doesn’t matter. What’s important is that we survived the COVID-19," he expressed while reinforcing the statement that Malaysians should view this pandemic positively as this may be the opportunity given by God to practice true fasting.

Not forgetting to mention that the PM mentioned that the government has discussed and decided to 'loosen the MCO' for a bit, where they will be allowing college students to return to their hometowns, orderly and under the condition of no infection risk.

"I reiterate that the MCO is loosened A BIT, not FULLY LIFTED. The government is studying the return journey of college students under the recommendation of the Ministry of Health and will make an announcement within the shortest time limit," he clarified.
