Meanwhile, learn the DOs & DON'Ts when it comes to mixing up the products in your routine! You could save your skin from a whole lot of purging as a side effect.

1. Do not use vitamin C as L-ascorbic acid & niacinamide together.

These 4 products are best used separately from The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%:

- Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%

- 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder

- Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone

- Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%

2. Do not use more than 3 serums in one routine, according to Deciem.

3. Do not use retinol & acids together, as the combo can make your skin extremely irritated.

e.g. Avoid Retinol 0.5% in Squalane & AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

4. Use Vitamin Cs, Retinoids, and/or Direct Acids on alternate evenings.

Wait till your skin has adjusted to one product before adding another to your routine.

5. Do not use The Ordinary Buffet with acids & vitamin Cs in the same routine, unless your skin tolerates the combo.

6. Apply water-based solutions first, followed by anhydrous or oil formulation & finally, cream or suspension formulas.

7. When applying serums, layer them in priority of your skin concerns. The product that targets your major skin problem goes on your face first, followed by the others.

8. Use 2-3 drops of any serum or oil-free formula.

9. Use one pea-sized amount of any suspension & cream-like formula.

10. Keep your retinols in a skincare fridge for long-lasting shelf life.

11. When using the peeling solution, reduce the use of other exfoliating products or retinol.

12. Do not use the peeling solution if you're taking tretinoin.

13. And, most importantly, APPLY SPF generously whenever you step out.
