A member of a Johor enforcement agency has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on suspicion of soliciting sexual favors. The male suspect, in his 40s, is accused of seeking these favors to avoid taking action against a woman who reportedly failed to report herself for a drug-related offense.
The arrest occurred during a special operation at a Johor Bahru hotel around 7:30 PM yesterday. The suspect was accompanied by a woman in her 20s, alleged to have neglected monthly reporting obligations to the enforcement agency. It's claimed that the suspect solicited sexual favors from the woman to evade consequences.
Sources indicate the woman had a previous arrest for a drug-related offense and is currently under a two-year supervision period at an enforcement agency in Johor Bahru.
The male suspect was issued a four-day remand order.
Director of the MACC Intelligence Division, Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman, confirmed the arrest, noting that the case is under investigation according to Section 16(a)(B) of the MACC Act 2009.
