A 32-year-old disabled man suffered severe injuries after being attacked by a drug-influenced individual wielding a folding knife in Kluang yesterday afternoon.
Kluang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh, reported that the victim is currently in stable condition. The 45-year-old suspect was apprehended near a petrol station in Taman Bersatu at around 6:17 PM.
According to Assistant Commissioner Bahrin, the victim sustained a long wound on the left side of his neck and another wound on the front right side. He was promptly rushed to the red zone of Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital, Kluang for immediate medical attention.
The harrowing incident occurred around 1:50 PM when the Kluang District Police Headquarters (IPD) received an emergency call reporting that a local man had been slashed in front of a grocery store in Taman Kluang Barat. A background check on the suspect revealed a criminal record and previous drug-related offenses. A urine test confirmed that the suspect was positive for morphine. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by drug abuse and the importance of community vigilance in preventing such crimes.
