According to Sin Chew Daily, the Singapore video game supplier, Razer Inc. will be setting up the first fully automated mask production line in Singapore within a month.
The masks produced will be supplied to the Singapore and foreign markets, in order to ease the condition of the shortage of face masks. It has been stated that there are three institutions based in Singapore that have committed to invest the US $ 50,000 (approximately RM219k) to purchase the first batch of masks produced by Razer.
Due to the continual spreading of COVID-19, Razer has released a statement today (April 2), announcing that the first fully automated production line for rapid production and packaging of masks will be set up locally within 30 days.
The production lines of Razer in parts of China have changed to the production of face masks, and the products have been donated to the health units of different countries. In the statement too mentioned that although Razer has switched its production lines, its products are unable to meet the market needs in some countries, especially Southeast Asia which are facing the lack of face masks and personal protective equipment.
Other than that, the face masks sold on the market do not meet the standards, hence, Razer has decided to set up a local production line to manufacture face masks that meet the Singapore and international standards and supply them to Singapore and regional markets.
