According to a statement made to Reuters on Monday, Truecaller will soon begin offering its caller identification service through WhatsApp and other messaging apps to assist users in identifying potentially fraudulent calls received over the internet.
According to Truecaller CEO Alan Mamedi, the feature, which is now in beta testing, will be launched worldwide later this month.
For instance, WhatsApp is the most used messaging platform in India and "over the last two weeks, we have seen a spike in user reports from India about spam calls over WhatsApp," as stated by Mamedi.
For the amount of scam calls we have been getting as of late, this will be one of the most useful preventive measure an internet user could get.
