The truth is, most of us fall into the category in between introvert and extrovert.
Ambivert
There is no such thing as a pure introvert or extrovert. Such a person would be in the lunatic asylum. –Carl G. Jung
Most of us might think that introvert and extrovert are plain black and white, but it is not that simple as it seems.
What is an ambivert?
Ambivert is someone who exhibits both the characteristics of introverts and extroverts.
For example, you prefer to hang out at a party and meeting new friends, however too much of partying makes you exhausted. This is the time where you will retreat back to your comfortable room and spend some alone time instead.
What types of ambivert are you?
Outgoing Introverts
A person who is positive, energetic, and excited only in certain situations and being around with certain people. Or when they need to be “outgoing” for that occasion.
For example, going to a birthday party with your old friends and a company event where you need to socialize.
Antisocial Extrovert
Not a typical extrovert. If you know that you are going to a party tonight, you will first spend some alone time to recharge yourself and relax before you head up to it.
Generally, you like to be alone more than a typical extrovert.
Social Introverts
This is the type of introvert that can turn into a full extrovert when there is a need. For example, you need to mingle around in an event to expand your social network for more business opportunities.
Thus when there is a need, you can play the role of an extrovert perfectly and thrive in that position.

Best Leader
Have you ever wondered which type of people is the best leader? Well, both are equally effective in terms of different aspects.
An extrovert will be the best leader for a team that needs clear instruction for them.
Due to the qualities that an extrovert leader possesses, such as outgoing and energetic, they will find no problem in handling different types of people in their team and provide motivations at the same time.
On the other hand, an introvert leader is best suited for a proactive team. You will listen to their opinions and discuss with them how to generate the best outcomes for the project.
You are more willing to listen to their ideas and your team will feel more valued.

Ambiverts are a mixture of introverts and extroverts. They are equally suited to be a leader or as supporting roles in an organization.
Ambiverts are more open to listen and accept other’s ideas and they would not appear overconfident or too quiet to speak out their minds that make others uncomfortable. They are assertive and not afraid to voice out when they need to.
Everyone is unique and different in their own way. Whether you are an introvert, extrovert, or ambivert, flexibility is a skill that all of us masters.
We are constantly adapting to the situations by offering “balance” characteristics between introverts and extroverts that make us shine equally from time to time.
Let us embrace our personality and thrive for the best as we embark on our journey in everything we do.
