A lorry driver was killed at North-South Expressway (NSE) after he got down to help another driver whose lorry had skidded.
The accident happened at 7.30pm yesterday (Apr 23) at the NSE near Muallim. 4 lorries, heading from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur, were invovled, according to Muallim OCPD Supt Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman.
“Initial investigation revealed that a lorry driver had lost control of his vehicle, and skidded before hitting the road divider.
“The lorry (Hino) was stalled at the left side of the lane.
“Then another lorry driver (who was driving Fuso) stopped at the emergency lane to help the earlier lorry driver, ” he said today (Apr 24).
A third lorry (Isuzu) then hit the back of the stalled lorry, causing it to spin and stop in the middle of the expressway.
“A few minutes later, a fourth lorry (Scania) that could not stop on time crashed into the pile, he said, adding that the victim was pinned underneath the pile.
