The Kepong Health Office has issued a compound under Act 342 to Barisan Nasional tonight for violating the Phase 4 standard operating procedures (SOP) of the National Rehabilitation Plan (PPN) for organizing social events.
The matter was informed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a post on its official Twitter earlier.
Earlier, several pictures showed Barisan Nasional launching the machinery for the Melaka State Election (PRN).
The launch of the machinery event was also broadcasted live on the BN Comms and Umno Online social media platforms.
Syahredzan Johan, Lawyer, Political Secretary to Lim Kit Siang and Member of Jkuasa Keselamatan PH shared the photos on Twitter comparing the way the BN hosted a public event in an air conditioned room without following any SOPS while Parti Muda, hosted their press conferences outdoors and in compliace with the SOPS.
He also compared how Barisan nasional was only fined RM 10k while a humble burger store owner was fined RM 50k a few months ago for not following the SOPs.
Recently, the MOH enforced a ban on not allowing any election-related gatherings or social events, including the launch of machinery from October 24 to November 27.
Its Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar said, MOH would like to inform, based on the monitoring of the Covid-19 situation in the country, it was found that among the contributors to the increase in cases and clusters in Malaysia were related to gatherings or social gatherings that did not comply with SOPs.
