Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been given seven days by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad to withdraw his statement, in which he was accused of using his position for the advantage of himself and his family while serving as prime minister.
Tun Dr. Mahathir stated that he will pursue legal action if Datuk Seri Anwar doesn't answer to the letter of demand dated March 27 within seven days.
Anwar was cited as saying, "After 22 years (and) another 22 months in power, someone is lamenting that the Malays have lost everything... " on March 18 during the PKR special national conference.
"If you were (taking) everything for your family and kids, how could they not? You want to talk about the people now that you have lost power."
Tun Dr. Mahathir also ordered the Prime Minister to submit a written apology and convene a special press conference to apologise for making such a statement in a letter of demand delivered to Anwar on Monday.
Even though the Prime Minister did not mention my name in his speech, it is clear he was referring to me," he said.
