In light of the upcoming State Elections (PRN), the Malaysian government has issued a stern warning against individuals who engage in spreading or utilizing materials that touch on sensitive sentiments of race, religion, and the royal institution (3R). Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed that such activities are being closely monitored by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
Regardless of their ethnic background or social status, no individual will be exempted from potential consequences if found to violate regulations, laws, challenge the constitution, or sow seeds of evil. During a press conference held after the Leadership Consultation Council of the Unity Government at Menara Dato Onn, World Trade Centre (WTC), the Prime Minister stressed the government's commitment to taking firm action against those who engage in such behavior.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim underlined the government's determination to address these sensitive issues seriously. The monitoring efforts by the MCMC and PDRM will ensure that any attempts to exploit racial, religious, or royal sentiments are promptly addressed. By enforcing strict measures, the government aims to safeguard the harmony and stability of the nation, regardless of the upcoming elections.
The Prime Minister expressed concern over a group that he believes is desperate to maintain power, even at the expense of the people's interests. He emphasized that their actions and disregard for the sensitivities surrounding these matters contribute to a state of unrest and instability within Malaysia.
Anwar further warned that leaving these issues unchecked will continue to cause turmoil and prevent the country from achieving stability. The government sees this as a longstanding problem, and the Prime Minister stressed that this is the final warning issued by the government. Measures will be taken to hold accountable those who persist in exploiting sensitive sentiments, as the government believes that addressing this issue is essential for the nation's progress and well-being.
As the State Elections draw nearer, the Malaysian government seeks to maintain a peaceful and inclusive environment for all citizens. The strict actions promised against those who spread divisive content aim to protect the nation's unity, foster understanding among diverse communities, and ensure a fair and respectful electoral process.
