The shocking murder took place at Kampung Padang Hasan, Kedah.

The victim was confirmed to be Mohammad Hasnu who was accidentally killed by his 25-year-old brother.

The brothers had a quarrel when the suspect was dissatisfied with the victim who often wore clothes that his girlfriend gave him. During the process, the victim attacked the suspect with a machete in his hand. After the suspect took the knife, he accidentally cut the victim's throat. The suspect then wrapped his brother's dead body in a plastic bag and put it in a blue barrel. The next day (March, 7th), he sealed the barrel with cement and abandoned it behind the house.

The suspect confessed to his second elder brother, and the latter reported the case to the family and police.

The police arrested the suspect immediately after receiving the report. The police seized the machete and other equipment used by the suspect (in the killing) for further investigation. The police had also obtained the help of Fire and Rescue Department personnel to disengage the body from the barrel.

Sapii said that an autopsy will be conducted at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Star. He also added that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Meanwhile, the suspect’s younger sibling, Mohd Nazir Azami (24 years old) said he did not expect his brother to become a murderer because his brother was a good person with a religious educational background. He said that their mother and another sibling had gone to Melaka during the incident.

Nazir revealed that his deceased brother had previously undergone drug rehabilitation. He further disclosed that the deceased and the other siblings share the same mother, but different fathers. He even told that the victim was the one who often starts the quarrel.
