Well, while we can't be in Rome at this instant, we can stay slim and petite like Audrey Hepburn by skipping normal ice cream and replacing it with some delicious artisanal Italian gelato that's low in fat, and sugar and even calories!
It might sound too good to be true but it is true. This new spot in Penang is where you can go for deliciously refreshing gelato, especially on a hot, sunny day and even if you're on a diet. Founded by a pharmacist, Ciao Gelato is committed to creating the toothsome gelato with the least amount of sugars necessary so that you won't feel guilty after eating it.
They have a very minimalistic interior, with few seating areas lit not only by lights but also by warm and calming rays of sunlight shining in through the skylight in the middle of the store.
Their gelato is made with the best imported Italian machines and with the techniques passed down by Italian Gelato Masters. The gelato and sorbet are stored in a pozzeti which is a traditional way of storing ice cream or gelato.
They serve several gelatos and sorbets of various flavours. There are the favourites like hazelnut and chocolate and also some flavours that are tailored to the local taste like calamansi and mango. Each of them costs RM7 per serving.
