In a poignant incident, an elderly woman was discovered deceased while face down in a chair inside a locked house in Taman Indah Jaya, Sandakan, Sabah. The discovery was made by a team of firefighters after they managed to gain access to the property.
Severinus Sainkui, the Chief of the Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department, stated that they received an emergency call regarding a locked house from the police at 4:01 pm yesterday.
Upon arrival at the scene, a team of firefighters, accompanied by their equipment, rushed to the location due to reports of an unconscious individual inside the residence.
To gain entry, the firefighting team employed specialized power saw equipment to cut through the iron grille on the door. Once the door was successfully opened, they found an occupant inside the house who was confirmed to have passed away by medical personnel on the scene.
The victim's body was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation and proceedings.
