The residents of Kampung Pendamar Fasa Satu, Pandamaran, Klang were shaken when the body of a woman was discovered cemented in a house in the area last night.
It is understood that the body of the victim, believed to be a foreigner, was cemented in a space within the house's restroom. A neighbour of the victim, who preferred not to be identified, said he was shocked to see the outside of his residence filled with police and firefighters at around 9:30 pm.
"When asked, I was surprised to learn about the discovery of the woman's body in the house. The house was previously rented by foreigners before being occupied by a local couple," he said when met at the scene today.
A report by Utusan Malaysia found the residence empty with the front and back doors open. He also expressed surprise at seeing firefighters lifting the body, which appeared to be a lump of clay.
"I understand that the firefighters helped break the cement to remove the body. The cemented area is believed to be the porch of the house, which was claimed to have leaked before," he said, having lived there for more than 30 years.
Meanwhile, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the discovery of the body, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. "At this point, we do not rule out the possibility that the victim is a foreign woman. However, we are still awaiting the forensic report and conducting a thorough investigation," he said.
He emphasized that the police have not made any arrests related to the case.
"However, we are intensifying efforts to locate two men suspected to be involved in the case. The public with any information is urged to contact the nearest police station to assist in the investigation," he said.
