As reported in Sin Chew Daily, hair salons are still not allowed to reopen during this phase of the Conditional Movement Control (CMCO).
The Minister of Defence, Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, mentioned today (May 19) that the Ministry of Health (MoH) has yet to provide any advice on the discussion of the topic of reopening hair salons thus far. Hence, hair salons are still not allowed to be on the list for resuming operation.
He stated that if the government received any suggestions or advice from the MoH regarding this topic, the government would have discussion and consultation in order to grant permission for hair salons to resume operation.

He confessed that the business of hair salons would definitely increase, especially when it's almost the festive season. He further disclosed that he did receive many calls from related associations and business owners to ask for approval from the government to resume business.
Bringing children to the supermarket
Meanwhile, in a separate report by Sin Chew Daily brought up the issue parents of bringing children to supermarkets.
To address whether the government will take action against parents who bring children to supermarkets, Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri stated that the government will not take action against these parents after considering a few conditions and consequences, such as the situation and difficulties of single-parent.

He used a single-mother as an example. If the law prohibits her to bring her child along with her, who would take care of the child? He too stated that anything could happen to the child if he or she is left alone at home.
He expressed that the government would discuss more in-depth pertaining to this issue with MoH and the Malaysian National Security Council as the government does not wish to cause another issue after announcing any enforcements.
