Malaysia and super duper fast speed internet? It might soon be a palpable reality as Starlink, a high-speed, low-latency broadband Internet provider owned by Elon Musk's aerospace company, SpaceX, is reportedly planning to expand its service in Malaysia, which could exponentially increase the country's internet penetration rate if it proceeds.

According to the Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, there are still a few aspects that need to be put into consideration as far as the proposals are concerned.

"Starlink representatives will be in Malaysia next week to scrutinize these proposals," he added, "and we hope this can be finalised in the near future as they are ready to come to Malaysia, bringing these new technologies that would benefit the country's economy."
