The victim's brother, Khairul Naim Abdullah, informed through a Facebook post that Nurul Afiqah's body would be brought back to their hometown in Bagan Tiang, Parit Buntar, and is expected to be laid to rest after the Zohor prayers today.

Yesterday, a group of seven tourists accompanied by two recreational boat crew members experienced moments of terror when the boat suddenly capsized while attempting to disembark passengers at the beachside. The incident led to a critical situation where two tourists, a 17-year-old boy and a 34-year-old woman, were rushed to Hospital Seri Manjung for immediate medical attention.

The husband of the victim, Mohammad Hafiz Johari, shared a heart-wrenching account of the incident, revealing the harrowing moments his family endured during the boat mishap at Pantai Teluk Batik. Mohammad Hafiz, 31, narrated how the boat flipped rapidly, leaving his wife, two children, and an additional family member trapped within the chaos.

"As the boat flipped, my head struck something, and my youngest child, Ainul Mardiah, 3, remained within my grasp, while my wife disappeared from sight completely," he recounted while speaking to the media.

After being rescued and realizing that his wife was missing, Mohammad Hafiz sought the help of bystanders to search for her. Following more than 10 minutes of frantic searching, his wife was discovered trapped beneath the overturned boat.

Tragically, Nurul Afiqah Abdullah Sani, 34, succumbed to her injuries and passed away during the early hours of the morning while receiving treatment at Hospital Seri Manjung. Prior to the incident, Mohammad Hafiz revealed that his wife was excitedly looking forward to taking their children on the boat to create joyful memories before heading home. Despite her fear of both swimming and boats, she eagerly embraced the experience for the sake of her family's happiness.

"I have to accept what has happened," Mohammad Hafiz expressed with a heavy heart.

The body of Nurul Afiqah arrived at Masjid At-Taqwa Sungai Megat Aris, Bagan Tiang, at 2:30 PM and is anticipated to be laid to rest at Tanah Perkuburan Masjid Bagan Tiang following the Asar prayers. The funeral was attended by the Member of the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) Kuala Kurau, Datuk Abdul Yunus Jamhari.

Mohammad Hafiz, who works as a delivery driver, highlighted that his late wife worked as a private clinic assistant in Pekan Lama Parit Buntar and left behind two children, Ahmad Haziq Danish, 6, and Ainul Mardiah. The incident stands as a tragic reminder of the unpredictability of life and the profound impact of such heartrending events on families and communities.
