A horrifying incident of gang rape has sent shockwaves through the Wangsa Maju community. A 27-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by five men at her residence in Section 2, Wangsa Maju, in the early hours of yesterday. As reported by Berita Harian, the suspects in question include the woman's brother-in-law and his friends.
The distressing incident took place around 3:30 AM in the morning while the victim was asleep in her room. Startled awake, the woman realized her mouth was covered by a hand, and she found herself confronted by a man believed to be a friend of her brother-in-law.
Tragically, the ordeal escalated as the assailant bound the victim's hands and muffled her screams with adhesive tape. The perpetrators then subjected her to a harrowing assault while recording the abhorrent act.
Following the assault, the perpetrators swiftly fled the scene, leaving the victim physically injured and emotionally scarred. Her hands bore evidence of the traumatic encounter, as they were covered in bruises.
She then reported the incident to the police.
Assistant Commissioner Siti Kamsiah Hassan, Deputy Director of the Women and Children Sexual Investigation Division (D11) of Bukit Aman, confirmed the receipt of a report concerning the incident. The authorities are now on a mission to track down the suspects, who fled after the assault. The case falls under the purview of Section 376 of the Penal Code, which addresses sexual assault and rape.
