"That's not even a roti canai!"
Malaysians really love their food, don't they?
A travel guide channel TasteAtlas posted this video on their official Twitter account with the caption: "Roti canai is a traditional Malaysian pan-fried flatbread. It can be served on the side, but also as the star dish, accompanied by different fillings and ingredients."
Naturally, Malaysians flocked to the replies, expressing their thoughts. One of them commented, "This is the result of a wild threesome between roti canai, burger benjo and a bottle of sambal." Others joined in and said, "That looks like a deconstructed avant garde benjo burger more than roti canai." One user remarked that it "looks good, but not our roti canai."
You can watch the video below and judge for yourself:
The video was credited to @foodfinder, however the twitter account is currently suspended. While the food in the video does look appealing and surely tastes good, roti canai in Malaysia isn't typically served as such. Perhaps a new recipe we have yet to learn about?
