25-Year-Old Job Seeker Stuns Employer By Skipping Resume And Interview, Demands Next-Day Start And Faces Backlash

A 25-year-old job seeker stunned a potential employer by brazenly ignoring the conventional hiring process, demanding an immediate start without providing a resume or attending an interview. This unexpected and audacious move left the employer at a loss for words and ultimately led them to blacklist the applicant.

The incident, which unfolded on Xiaohongshu, quickly went viral after the employer shared screenshots of their conversation with the job seeker. In the exchange, the applicant approached the employer without offering any basic information, such as an introduction or specifying the job they were applying for.

Perplexed, the employer asked the applicant's age, hoping to gain some context. However, instead of a straightforward response, the job seeker replied with a provocative retort: "Does my age matter? As long as I'm capable, that's enough."

Only after further pressing did the job seeker reluctantly admit to being 25 years old. The situation escalated when the applicant, in an astonishing display of overconfidence, asked if they could begin working the next day, adding the pointed question: "You must be really short-staffed, right?"

The employer, maintaining professionalism, explained that the company followed a standard procedure of reviewing resumes and conducting interviews to assess an applicant's qualifications. But the applicant's response took the conversation to another level.

"Who still prepares a resume these days? Just tell me what information you need, and Ill give it to you. For something so urgent, you still want me to prepare a resume?"

Taken aback by the job seeker's dismissive attitude and lack of respect for the hiring process, the employer decided to post the conversation online, expressing their disbelief at the applicants approach. The post, shared on Xiaohongshu, has since garnered widespread attention, sparking heated discussions about job application etiquette and the importance of professionalism.

Many users supported the employers decision to blacklist the job seeker, with comments emphasizing that basic respect and adherence to professional standards remain essential in the workforce. Others criticized the applicants sense of entitlement, noting that such an attitude is likely to hinder future job opportunities.

As the debate continues, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of following standard hiring practices, even in a fast-paced job market, and the critical role that first impressions play in securing employment.
