KUALA TERENGGANU - A freshwater fish trader who had just gotten married three days ago died in an accident at Surau Panjang here yesterday.
In the incident at 1.10pm, the victim, Muhammad Mustaqim Mustafa, 25, died from severe head injuries after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a lorry that suddenly entered the route at 1.10pm.
The victim's mother, Zaitun Yusof, 57, said that during the incident, Muhammad Mustaqim was on his way home in Kampung Belukar Sukai, Kepong here after sending fish supplies to a nearby restaurant.
He said the seventh child of the 10 siblings had just gotten married to Sharifah Erin Nurshafieka Saiyed Azman, 20, last Thursday.
They should have been scheduled to get married next June but the deceased (Muhammad Mustaqim) wanted it to be expedited.
The reception ceremony was planned for March 26 but sadly death came first. I didn't expect him to be married for only three days" she said when met by Kosmo! at her house in Kampung Belukar Sukai here today.
Zaitun said Muhammad Mustaqim's body was safely buried at the Masjid Beladau Kepong Islamic Cemetery here after Asar prayers yesterday.
