Today, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the president of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), declared that he would not contest for his position in the forthcoming party elections, slated for next year.
In his address during the Bersatu president's policy speech at the party's annual general assembly (AGM), Muhyiddin stated, "The time has come for me to let go of this position."

His announcement was met with dissent from some delegates at the assembly, who vocally protested, crying out, "No, tarik balik," signaling a desire for him to reconsider his decision.
