A young child was left unattended in a locked car in Melaka, prompting a rescue operation by the fire department. The mother, faced with the distressing situation of her child being asleep and unresponsive in the vehicle, had no choice but to seek help from authorities. The incident took place yesterday on the 18th of April.
The call for assistance came in at 2:56 PM, reporting a child sleeping inside a locked Honda sedan parked on Laksamana Road. Responding swiftly to the emergency, nine firefighters from the Melaka Central Fire Department reached the scene within six minutes.

Using specialized tools, the firefighters carefully opened the car door and successfully rescued the child. Operations Director Ismail shed light on the circumstances, revealing that the car's engine was running when they arrived.
The boy's mother had left him in the car to attend to errands nearby, only to return 20 minutes later to find him still asleep and trapped inside the vehicle. Members of the public had initially intervened by trying to forcefully open the car doors but to no avail. Thankfully, the boy was rescued in time.
