Jho Low Allegedly Spent Over RM88 Million Just For A Photo With Former US President Obama

Rapper Prakazrel "Pras" Michel of the Fugees claimed to have received $20 million (RM 88,439,880) from Malaysian tycoon Jho Low in exchange for a picture with former US President Barack Obama.

The Grammy winner claimed that Low, who is currently wanted for allegedly embezzling $4.5 billion from Malaysia's 1MDB sovereign wealth fund, did not instruct him to use the money for the photo to make campaign donations during his self-defence testimony before a jury in Washington, DC, on Tuesday.

According to Michel, he utilised a portion of the money to pay for three friends' tickets to Obama fundraisers that cost $40,000 per person. As for it being improper to do this, Michel claimed he was unaware of it.

When asked, the rapper described the money given by Jho Low as "free money".

Michel is currently charged with criminal conspiracy, foreign lobbying, and campaign finance violations for allegedly conspiring with Low to try influence the Obama and former President Donald Trump administrations.
