As COVID-19 is still active in our society, many mass gatherings have postponed or canceled in order to prevent the spread of the virus, and the wedding ceremony is considered as one of it as it involved many people gathering at a space.

According to China Press, the Minister of Defence, Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced on May 14 that couples are allowed to get married online, however, the wedding ceremony will have to wait until the COVID-19 pandemic ended. It was learned that couples could register online to get married.

And this announcement has certainly upset those who intended to get married this year. So if you're stubborn and insist on having a wedding ceremony, this news reported by Sin Chew Daily today (May 20) will definitely change your mind!

As reported in Sin Chew Daily, this Indian family insisted on having an engagement ceremony despite the COVID-19 pandemic. This incident happened in Hyderabad, India.

The engagement ceremony, that took place in the bride's house, was conducted on May 10 and it had 40 relatives and friends attended. After attending the ceremony, the bride's grandfather passed away the next day (May 11) and was suspected initially that he died of a heart attack. However, after testing, they found out that this 58-year-old man was tested positive for COVID-19.

Hence, all relatives and friends who attended the ceremony get tested and discovered that 15 from the bride's family were tested positive for the virus, which included 8 children.

The police revealed that the deceased's son, who was working in a bank was the first in the family to be infected as his colleague was diagnosed with COVID-19.
