In a recent event, the Musang King Durian originating from Raub, priced at a whopping RM185,000 per fruit, has been recognized as one of the world's most expensive durians ever sold!
Fadzli Mohamad Kamal, the Exco for Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports, and Non-Governmental Organizations in Pahang, unveiled this information following a durian bidding session where the highly prized fruit fetched a staggering bid price.
Initially, the bidding for the sought-after Musang King started at RM2,000 per fruit. As rounds of competitive bidding ensued, the price dramatically escalated, eventually reaching a pinnacle bid of RM185,000 per fruit, with Wong Kai Mun emerging as the successful bidder.
During this auction, another notable durian variety, the black thorn durian, attracted a second-highest bid of RM15,000 per fruit.
Fadzli disclosed these details through a statement shared on his Facebook page on Sunday evening, emphasizing the competitive nature of the bidding event and the exceptional valuation of these prized durians.

Further, he highlighted that the earnings from this auction have been directed towards enhancing the infrastructure of the Sungai Ruan National Secondary School in Raub. Notably, Datuk Lye Wee Ken, the Chairman of the Pahang Durian Traders Association, generously contributed RM204,444 through this bidding initiative at SMK Sg Ruan, Raub.
