International Trade and Industry Minister Lei Jing said that Tan Sri Su Xuming, chairman of TCC Group, a well-known Thai company, will invest in the Tun Lhasa Exchange in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He said that Su Xuming acknowledged that the Fraser industry, a subsidiary of the TCC Group, has taken initial steps to study the possibility of investing in the Tunesa Exchange.
"His son will lead the team of Warsaw and further cooperate with the Ministry of International Trade.
“However, his team will invest in Malaysia through Big C, a popular supermarket in Thailand. The development of its store will soon start in Kedah.”
Lei Jing was accompanying Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir to visit Thailand and made a statement after meeting with Su Xuming. The TCC Group is a group of foreign companies with significant operations in Malaysia, covering a wide range of industries including real estate, food and beverage, consumer goods and trade.
Lei Jing said that Su Xuming mentioned that TCC Group is committed to improve the experience of tourists through its series of hotel chains such as Meridien, Marriot and so on.
Malaysia and Thailand company learns from each other
According to the statement, since Malaysia has always been a popular tourist destination, it is natural for the two sides to seek cooperation to further promote tourism.
Lei Jing said: "Mahadi once again welcomes all foreign companies including Thailand to invest in Malaysia and will ensure the convenience of business. Through cooperation, companies from Malaysia and Thailand can learn from each other and achieve common development."
He commented that both countries have incredible opportunities to further excel. Mahathir expressed confidence in the TCC Group and said that the group could contribute to Malaysia becoming a developed country. The two sides promised to cooperate and contribute to the improvement of the country.
“The two sides also talked about the huge potential of Penang and Singapore, but the security problems in the southern provinces of Thailand have affected the country’s development. The southern border is a very valuable area, both sides agreed and have higher expectations, once Regional development can promote trade between Malaysia and Thailand."
