As announced by the Malaysian Prime Minister today (June 5) that the government is introducing a new economic plan, know as 【Pelan Jana Semula Negara】, also know as 【PENJANA】. This plan involved a huge amount of funds, as high as RM 35 billion, of which RM 10 billion was directly injected by the government.
He mentioned that this new plan has 3 objectives, which are
1. Empower people;
2. Propel business;
3. Stimulate economy.
And that this plan, too, consists of 40 initiatives.

He disclosed in his live conference that Malaysia's economy is facing tough challenges, the same as other countries. The unemployment rate in March had reached 3.9%, equivalent to 600,000 people.
He added that the unemployment rate will rise to 5.5%, equivalent to 860,000 people this year, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia Offical Portal.
Meanwhile, he revealed that up until June 2, there are 83.5% of workers have resumed work, equivalent to 12.7 million workers after the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) on May 4.
Single Mother and OKU
In a separate report, PM announced that the government will be giving a one-time incentive, RM 300, to single mothers and Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU). He disclosed that he has expected that 300,000 disabled friends and single mothers registered with the Welfare Bureau would receive this allowance, which will be issued before the Haji Festival.
E-PENJANA Plan
PM, too, introduced an e-PENJANA plan, worths RM 750 million. Starting from July 2020, all e-wallet users will be receiving RM 50. He mentioned that this plan will be benefiting 15 million people as this plan is to encourage people to use contactless payment.
