Meet 7 Local Champs On Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2021 List

The Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia List has done Malaysians nationwide proud again!

This year, 7 self-made Malaysians have secured their much-deserved spots in the list of 300. Kudos to all!


In case you didn't know, the annual roster comes out as a token of acknowledgement for the works & contributions of change makers & bright leaders under 30 years old. 


These group of relentless individuals are vetted carefully from over 2,500 nominations this year, with 30 honorees from each 10 categories. 


So, here are the champs & what they do!


1- Qyira Yusri

2- Tharma Pillai

The founders of Undi18 have been actively fighting to reduce the minimum voting age in Malaysia from 21 to 18 since 2016. In efforts to encourage more political participation among the youth, they organized Parliament Digital 2020, the country's first-ever with 500,000 livestream views. 


3- Annice Lyn

The co-founder of Women Photographers Malaysia is keen in empowering & supporting local women in the industry through meet-ups, exhibitions & workshops. This is in hopes of increasing their work visibility for accreditation in a male-dominated field. 


4- Ong Yong Xun

The sole developer of the Jom Study app self-taught himself to code via Google & YouTube. The outcome: a free-to-download study tool with study + revision notes, MCQs & videos by chapter for high school students. A saviour for many during the pandemic!


5- Jaz Lee

After kickstarting a promising career at Leo Burnett in KL, Jaz would go on to lead campaigns for big names like Nestle, Samsung, and Coca-Cola. He made it among the Top 10 Most Awarded Creative in Malaysia by Campaign Brief Asia. 

Today, he's a successful Creative Director at Ogilvy.


6- Kevin Wu

The founder of Ento built his own food enterprise to solve high carbon emissions from convential protein produces. How?

All thanks to an innovative cricket farm, which also manufactures products like roasted crickets & cricket powder

He also owns a law firm [Kevin Wu & Associates], plus a furniture startup by the name Furniture Outlet Centre


7- Tan Guan Sheng

Guan Sheng started off as an intern for production companies like JinnyBoyTV. He later, launched Ittify, an influencer marketing platform with more than 6,000 local influencers hosted to date . He remains as its CEO, despite the company's acquisition by iMedia



But, there's one thing they all have in common!  Every single one started off from scratch with none to a little knowledge in their respective fields!

So, go ahead & strive in your profession.
