Last Sunday, a local bakery in Johor organized a special event called Cromboloni Day, aiming to provide their customers with a unique opportunity to purchase their popular cromboloni desserts without any purchasing limits. However, what was meant to be a delightful event ended up in chaos.
According to accounts from various customers, including one shared by @IrsyadAdanan on X, the day commenced with a lengthy queue forming outside the bakery as early as 8:30 AM. Eager patrons gathered, anticipating a day of delightful treats, only to face unexpected challenges.
While the bakery had assured that customers were free to buy as many cromboloni desserts as they desired, unlike regular days where limits are imposed due to high demand, the reality was far from the promised experience. Despite the early start, many customers reported waiting for hours, with some enduring lines lasting up to six hours.
Frustration peaked as the majority of the dessert flavors quickly sold out, primarily due to personal shoppers purchasing large quantities of stock. As the wait continued and impatience grew, the bakery's spokesperson addressed the disgruntled crowd, stating that it was the bakery's inaugural Cromboloni Day, and the staff had been working tirelessly without rest to meet the overwhelming demand. Additionally, the spokesperson defended the personal shoppers, mentioning that they had placed their orders in advance.

However, this explanation was met with discontent from customers who argued that the bakery should have communicated in advance about the option to pre-order the desserts, ensuring fairness to both walk-in and pre-order customers.
The incident sparked disappointment among many patrons, who had looked forward to enjoying the special event but instead were left dissatisfied by the unexpected turn of events following the Cromboloni Day sale at the bakery in Johor. However, some have urged the customers to be understanding as it is the bakery's first event of such scale therefore hiccups are bound to happen.
