A fire reportedly broke out at the basement of a hostel block in UniMAP earlier this morning, ravaging 36 motorcycles.
The incident, which occurred around 4.41am at Block B of the Pauh Putra Housing Complex, saw the building being covered by billowing smoke.
According to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, rescue personnel were swift in putting out the fire to prevent further spreading.
Students in the block were also quickly alerted by the emergency, whereby everyone escaped unscathed.
The total damage in assets, however, has yet to be determined. One student, in particular, claimed that he had suffered almost RM15,000 loss.
The cause of the disaster is pending investigation.
