18-Mar-2020

The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed that the rapid test kit for COVID-19 is fake news on their Facebook post

"This is fake news! Don't share and spread this false information!" said MOH.

MOH urges everyone to stay alert regarding this news and stop spreading information regarding the COVID-19 rapid test kit.

Although declared as fake news, MOH did not clarify what part of the test kit was fake news.

Despite this, MyEG is still featuring the test kits on their website.

The COVID-19 rapid test kit was introduced by MyEG last Friday (13 March) as a home-based screening kit which can produce results for coronavirus under 30 minutes using blood-sampling.

They are priced on their website at RM99 per kit or RM990 for a pack of 10 kits and were up for preorders, as they were still pending approval from authorities.

This is still a developing story. More updates to come.
