According to state executive Zawawi Ahmad Mughni, Muslims in Selangor are not permitted to participate in activities organised at non-Muslim places of worship.
Although he acknowledges that interfaith events foster understanding between people of different religions, he also warns that they contravene Islamic law.
He issued this statement in response to concerns of a programme called Impact Malaysia that brings youth to various places of worship, a programme in which Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh has since defended.
