A 28-year-old male teacher has been arrested by the police for alleged sexual misconduct with four students, who are all SPM candidates. The arrest comes after four male students aged 16 to 17 filed police reports against him.
Sources reveal that the misconduct is believed to have occurred within the school premises and at various locations in Ampang. The teacher, who has been instructing the involved students since last year, now faces serious legal consequences.
He is further accused of sending explicit WhatsApp messages to the victims.
The actions of the teacher came to light after one of the victims bravely stepped forward to make a police report. The source states that the revelations unfolded yesterday and today as more victims reported the incidents.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan has confirmed receiving reports regarding the incident. "Thus far, we have received four police reports involving four victims aged 16 to 17. Some of these students are also sitting for the SPM, and the suspect, a teacher at the implicated school, has already been detained," stated Hussein to Harian Metro.
Hussein added that the suspect has been remanded for a week starting yesterday to assist in the investigation under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
