A 34-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Wen, has come forward with shocking claims about how police handled her near-kidnapping case in Johor Bahru. Speaking at a media conference on Friday, December 27, Ms. Wen described the troubling series of events and the alleged lack of appropriate action by the authorities.
Ms. Wen recounted that she initially lodged a report at the Setia Indah Police Station following the attempted kidnapping by her stalker, a man named Chen. Instead of being reassured by the officers, she was allegedly advised to travel to the Larkin Police Station to meet the investigating officer.
However, Ms. Wen claimed that the police officer at Setia Indah made an alarming suggestion: that she should offer Chen a ride to the Larkin station since they were headed to the same location. At the time, Chen was reportedly at a nearby Mamak restaurant, casually having a drink.
When Ms. Wen refused to comply, the officer allegedly responded, "Go and tell him that he has to go to the Larkin police station to see the investigating officer."
Ms. Wen's refusal to give Chen a ride left her feeling both frightened and bewildered. Despite the police's suggestion, she proceeded to the Larkin Police Station on her own to meet the investigating officer. It remains unclear whether Chen ever made his way to the station.
During the press conference, Ms. Wen revealed disturbing details about her stalkers behavior. She claimed that Chen had often reminded her of his connections and influence, saying, "I have friends in the force and in the criminal underworld. I am not afraid to be investigated."
According to a report by China Press, the Chief of Police for the South Johor District has acknowledged receiving reports about the incident. The police have assured the public that a detailed update on the investigation will be provided in due course.
